Mulholland Drive

This was among the first movies I saw directed by David Lynch (in fact the second, the first one is the Twin Peaks series). I was simply astonished by this movie. It's not just enigmatic, it is beautifully crafted. The picture is wonderfull, the music is brilliant (fantastic cover song by Rebecca Del Rio after the Roy Orbison's Crying) and the action is puzzling. Mulholland Drive is one of its kind: after each time you saw it, you have a better (or maybe a completly different) understanding of what's going on. The action is a mixture of fantasy and reality which are really hard to differentiate. The time frame is scrambled, there are strange characters like mobsters, film makers and beautiful women, mysterious objects, places and situations, all of these contributing to a tense and exciting atmosphere. The key characters are two beautiful women played by Naomi Watts and Laura Harring which are doing a great performance in this movie, the chemistry between them is perfect.
