Chaos Theory is a story about Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds), a man obsessed with order and efficiency, there's not a single thing in his life that he hasn't set a priority. He respects his schedule, well planned events are leading into other well planned events but when a short delay appears his world collapses. From now on, he invites chaos in his life, trying to live in a completly different way. The movie will make you laugh, it has some really nice comic situations. Anyway, it's not pure comedy, there's also the drama that Frank and Susan Allen (Emily Mortimer) live, it's a story about true friendship and forgiveness.

21 is a movie based on a true story, the story of a team of MIT students which manage to obtain a large amount of money at blackjack game in Las Vegas casinos using the card counting scheme. Anyway, the movie is not so accurate. Here's the plot: Micky Rosa (Kevin Spacey), MIT professor, gathers a team of mathematical geniuses which he trains in blackjack card counting in order to ripp off Vegas casinos. Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess) joins the team because he needs $300000 to attend Harvard Medical School. Being seduced by the glamour of Vegas, he doesn't stop when he reaches his aim and this leads him to problems. This film is "light" but it's still enjoyable due to Kevin Spacey performance. The original story is getting too hollywoodized, characters are acting in childish manners making the movie less credible.

Short movies are good for a movie addict: whenever you don't have enough time to watch a lenghty and possibly boring movie you should go for a quick one to drop your addiction. Here are some interesting short movies I've recently watched:
"Lucky" - directed by Nash Edgerton
"Shame" - directed by Tom Geenes
"She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" - directed by Jamie Rafn

Few days ago I was watching a bunch of movie trailers and I've come across an interesting title: "Mongol". This is an epic film which tells the story of Genghis Khan, the great ruler who conquered half the world, including Rusia. "Mongol" is planned as a trilogy and the first part who is about to be released in UK (6 June 2008) will follow Genghis through his early years. This movie is directed by russian director, Sergei Bodrov. Channing Tatum ("Coach Carter") will star in "Part One" as the young Genghis, while Tadanobu Asano (best known for his role in "Zatoichi") will play his brother, Temudjin.

Today I will recommend you one of my anime favorites: it's called "Paprika". The plot is very interesting, Paprika is a dream character, kind of an alter ego of Chiba, a therapist, who has the ability to enter someone's dreams and solve the inner problems using a machine called DC-Mini which was created as a revolutionary psychotherapy treatment. When the DC-Mini machine is stolen, the chaos begins, the entire world could be manipulated with hijacked dreams. Paprika has to find the one who's playing with people's minds, but first, Chiba must survive.
